JBL FilterStart are liquid live cleaning bacteria for activating new and cleaned filters in fresh and saltwater aquariums. Fish and invertebrates should feel as comfortable in the aquarium as in nature. Therefore prepare the aquarium water in a biotope-appropriate manner and protect the aquarium inhabitants.

This bacterial starter contains highly active, useful live bacteria that rapidly break down pollutants, fish excretions and other waste.

When using JBL Denitrol and JBL FilterStart (15 minutes after adding JBL Biotopol), large amounts of bacteria are added immediately. When the first fish are added the next day, these bacteria also get food and begin to multiply. This ensures that there are enough bacteria right from the start and that neither ammonium/ammonia nor nitrite becomes a problem.
